Mr Steve Bevan
I am the lead instructor & 5th Degree Black Belt at the Caerphilly and Merthyr Tydfil clubs and have been Kickboxing for over 24 years. I competed at the 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 WKA & WKU World Championships and took Gold Medal, becoming World Champion in Florida in 2008, Edinburgh in 2010 and in Crete in 2013.
Mr Kane Vaughan
I’m a 4th Degree Black Belt and level 2 coach.
Mr Tom Coombs
In memoriam of Mr Coombs who joined the WCKA in July 1987 at the Trecenydd Community Centre Club under the instruction of Master Cliff Brown. He was 57 years of age when he started and hardly missed a class in all the years during which he trained. He was still actively training well into his 80s, passing on his knowledge of karate and boxing, which he did for 5 years as a youngster at Welterweight.

Alex Rogers
My name is Alex Rogers and I started kickboxing in September 2015, aged 6.
On 2nd March 2024, after 9 years of hard work I was awarded my 1st degree black belt.
This is by far my proudest achievement so far.
I’ve never had a lot of confidence but have stuck with my kickboxing and I’ve been determined to succeed. I even help out with the Little Dragons and Kids Zone classes when I can! I’ve come a long way in the last 9 years and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved.
Sam Coakley
I started kickboxing at the age of 4 and have been training for 15 years. I achieved my first degree black belt in 2017 and have competed all over the uk in kickboxing competitions. I have also competed in many full contact ring fights where I have won British and European titles and have also fought for multiple world titles.
I’ve represented the Welsh national squad at the WKU World Championships three times—2018, 2022, and 2023—winning a total of 10 gold medals becoming world champion in various disciplines.
I also recently travelled to Thailand where I trained at a Muay Thai kickboxing camp and was the main event fight at the Kalare stadium in Chiang Mai.
Kickboxing has been a huge part of my life and has given me so many amazing opportunities, I am very proud to be part of this club
